Test Sample Receives Approval

I twisted up a test sample of the yarn for M and showed it to HWSNBN. He said it was “pretty.” * Yay!

It looks much like I imagined it would, so I’m pretty happy. I like it too, even though I selected the colors that were M’s taste, not mine. I won’t have to use the backup fiber I bought just in case my idea didn’t pan out.

(M, are you totally curious yet? Muahahahahaha…. I love the holidays!)

I haven’t heard back from Fiber N’ Ice yet, so I might just wind off the yak fiber I have on one of my bobbins. Only problem with that is it really needs something to balance it, I think, and I only have the one ply of laceweight yak. With only a 1″ staple (fiber length) it needs at least one other ply of something for strength and stability. Maybe I’ll see if I can find an appropriate laceweight fiber to ply it with. Maybe even some silk thread?

* NOTE: HWSNBN doesn’t give out compliments lightly. If he doesn’t like something, he’ll say so!
