Cremation Jewelry

I was looking for a charm bracelet online, and stumbled upon the apparently extremely lucrative niche of cremation jewelry. Specifically pet cremation jewelry. You can also take paw prints or hoof prints or (bird) claw prints or nose prints or fingerprints or handprints or footprints and get those put on a pendant as a memorial.

Who knew? I laughed pretty hard about the whole idea, telling HWSNBN about this ridiculous racket.

And then I realized. I still have a lock of my first dog’s hair. And his collar. Wouldn’t it be nice to have a charm that had his hair in it? So then I started looking, seeing if I could find something a little more classy than what I found on the first site.

And then I found a place where they can do a 3d replica of your pet based off of a picture. And I thought of my favorite picture of Thunder and next thing you know, I’m crying just a little bit. It would be so great to have a charm with his face. It seems less creepy than a locket with ashes or hair. Less… Victorian.

So I wiped off the tears and laughed at myself because obviously there is a market for this racket. Me. Then I told HWSNBN so he could laugh at me too.

And then I found cremation jewelry for people, and I thought of Nonny. Then I had to find the box of tissues. Mom, do you still have any of Nonnie’s ashes?

I know that about that one. Prohibitively expensive!
