Purely Whimsical

Since Thursday, it’s been snowing pretty well here in Anchorage. I have been really enjoying my subaru in this weather. It’s truly amazing just how easily it drives in really awful conditions. I think I may have been just a little bit driving like a… a fathead.

Because I have stopping power. I know, because I tested it. Whenever we have lots of snow I go and find an empty parking lot or something similar and do brake and slide tests. For safety, you know. Not because it’s fun or anything.

Anyway, so I did have an issue with the car today. As it turns out, the nut on the driver’s side windshield wiper likes to work itself loose. What that means is, you’ll be sitting at a light, with snow piling on your windshield and have no way to brush it off because the wiper won’t move. Yah, that was fun. I now have a wrench to tighten it if it happens again.

So, as it comes time to my birthday (December 17th), I’ve been asked by some to compile a wish list. I feel somehow greedy for posting it here, but it seems to be the best place for it to be. I also included a link to my wishlist on amazon.com, which has a whole bunch of stuff I’ve randomly added over a couple of years now.

Hey, if anyone has any other good ideas, I’m game!

Woolee Winder Bobbins (Majacraft)
Shiny things (gold/emerald/pearl/etc) - heck I need some gold chains, I’ve got at least 3 pendants I can’t wear because I’ve lost or broken the chains.
Fun spindle (top whorl)
Boxwood comb (for smooth hair) (with case)
Mp3 player for hiking
Gerber Guardian Backup knife for backpacking
Flowering teas & glass teapot, because I’m a sucker for that kind of stuff.
LED Lantern because my last (incandescent) one broke and I can’t find another one anywhere.
Drum Carder for fiber fun.
Wool Picker for preparing fiber for the drum carder.
Yarn meter or Yarn meter plus talk about a luxury item.
