This weekend, I was playing one of Ada’s favorite games. She was rolled over on her back while she tried to push away my hands with her paws before I could flick them. She can’t see me very well, so all she really does is randomly flail around with her paws, occasionally catching some random body parts like elbows and ears. I pretty much won the game, so I gave her a really good belly rub to compensate for the loss. She loves belly rubs and was quickly wriggling with happiness on the floor.
Have I ever mentioned that she sneezes when she’s happy? It’s like she’s allergic to joy or something. It’s really funny until she’s laying down on her back, with her nose pointed to the ceiling… and she sneezes as hard as she can, back bowing so hard both her shoulders and butt rise off the floor, paws helplessly flapping with the force of the sneeze..
I exclaim, “Ewwwww, a snot fountain!”
HWSNBN burst into laughter; I got a good laugh too. Ada sneezed happily (harder!) one more time, rolled to her feet and swaggled her way over to me to be pet. Ah, the joys of being a pet owner. At least this time I wasn’t laying down on the floor with her so my mouth, and eyes were open to be perfect snot collectors. Also, she doesn’t really have that runny of a nose so maybe it’s mostly my imagination.
Maybe.
