Sulka Sweater (Not Buttony)
by tr3n1ty on Jan.05, 2008,under I'm getting crafty
So, I said earlier I was making the Buttony Sweater.
This is still mostly true. I’m using the same raglan instructions, modified to have a higher collar, and I am also still going to have the cardigan seam on the side.
However, I have decided to not put buttonholes on this. I’ll either use snaps or a zipper or frog closures. Anyone who knows me knows that I am somewhat of a perfectionist, and I simply could not find any buttonholes I liked for this sweater.
The simple yarnover buttonhole looked ugly and not nearly large enough for a decent button. I found a nice buttonhole, but it turned out that it deformed the line of the garter stitch edge, and … well … it kind of tweaked me just a little bit. I had to rip it out.
I’m just going to knit this, then decide what I want to do when I’m finished. I’ll upload pics when I’ve got them.
