Sulka Sweater (Was Corsica Sweater)
by tr3n1ty on Jan.03, 2008,under I'm getting crafty, Knitting
I was looking all over for a sweater pattern, but I couldn’t find anything I liked. Finally, I started sketching something that seemed like it would be fun - a sweater with a cabled band around your tummy, with ribbing down from the cable, and a v neck. Maybe a cable band on the sleeves too for some interest.
Then I saw this pattern: Corsica by Fiber Fiend. I figured I’d buy it, since it’s almost exactly what I was envisioning.
I had thought I’d use a worsted or lighter weight wool, so the sweater wouldn’t be too heavy, but Corsica calls for a heavy worsted weight yarn, so I went to the LYS armed with gift certificates and came out with this gorgeous yarn.

I’ve been swatching, and it looks absolutely fabulous
but it’s also stunningly warm.
I’ve decided that I must knit the Corsica sweater with another, less warm yarn. But I’m not returning the Sulka! It’s too gorgeous!
I think I’ll knit this instead. I’ve seen some very nice versions on ravelry.com and it’s a simple sweater that will show off this sumptuous and HOT yarn.
